The “Edge of Appalachia” Project

Hypothesis

The border areas of traditional Appalachia differ from “deep Appalachia” in ways that merit different public policies and investment strategies.

Areas on the edge area facing significant new growth pressures, but lack institutions with the resources and experience shape and manage growth to be sustainable, equitable, and productive.

Know any GIS analysts or policy grad students who might help with the data crunching to help define the area by attribute cluster? Please send them my way.
